About
Iblis & The ego is set of incredible classes which take us right back to the origins of man and the creation of Adam. The infamous conversation between Allah and the Angels, in which Allah informs them he will create man. Then we see the superiority of this creation when Allah teaches Adam the names of all things. Allah describes man on this earth as a khalifah, a representative of Allah, one who will implement the religion of Allh on this earth, one who will populate this earth for a short period of time with the hope of being obedient servants. All of creation bows to Adam except Iblis, he refused out of arrogance claiming he is superior than the one who is created from clay.
“But when we told the angels, Bow down before Adam,’ they all bowed. But not Iblis, who refused and was arrogant”. 2:34
The story concludes with the mention of the sin of Adam and the sin of Iblis, but there is a huge lesson to learn from the two of them. They both sinned yet Adam was forgiven and praised while Iblis didn’t’ repent and was thrown in the fire.

Instructor
Farhan Mahmood is one of the lecturers at Islamic Courses Online. He completed his LLB in Law in 2009 and attained a distinction in an MSc in Management Consultancy in 2011. After gaining experience in Law, he took the route to becoming a student of knowledge in 2012. He graduated in 2018, and since then he has been teaching Arabic Language, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, and Tafsir.
