The Tafseer of Surah Al Baqarah is a lively and highly interactive study of the greatest chapter of the Quran. This Medinan sura be it the longest in the Qur’an, containing material revealed over several years, and named after the story of ‘The cow’ is a must for every Muslim to fully understand. This tafseer course answers contemporary questions and makes the Qur’an fully relevant to the concerns of our day, yet it loses none of its timelessness nor sacrifices any of the traditional understanding. The exegesis of each verse is methodical, explaining the Qur’an through the Qur’an, the Sunnah and the understanding of the early generations. Each segment is clearly laid out with the use of maps, diagrams and charts all facilitating the ease of understanding, allowing the student to develop strong scholarly skills.

Instructor

Junaid Dar is Head of Qur’anic Studies at Islamic Courses Online. He obtained a Masters in Civil Engineering from University College London (UCL) in 2007. After working as an engineer he went on to achieve his LLB in Islamic Law from the University of Al-Azhar in Cairo. Wokring on numerous TV Stations around the globe including Huda TV, Islam Channel and Iqra TV International. After graduating he began work as an Imam, Khateeb and teacher at West London Islamic Centre , Hounslow Muslim Centre and Al Forkan West London, promoting the different fields of Islamic sciences including the Arabic Language, Fiqh, Usul-al-Fiqh, Mustalah Al Hadith, and with a special focus on the Holy Quran. In 2022, he began his second masters, an MA in Islamic Studies, at SOAS University of London with the ambition to complete his Ph.D in the near future.
